Digital City - Tonight

Audio-visual party poppers, Digital City return to the all new T Bar with our unique brand of swanked-up warehouse revelry. And boy, do we return with a treat. When a young producer by the name of Jon Hopkins first played for us, he commuted from his mum’s house in the countryside. This time he returns from Sydney where he’s been playing in the Opera House in a one-off band with Brian Eno and Underworld.

Support comes from Digital City’s resident DJs, BarryDark, Tentonatom and Remote fusing all that is electronic from afro to electro. Flanked by a matrix of projection screens, the visual quality is represented by Big Chill resident VJ, Dr Mo and Parallax. This is a rare (legal) Digital City foray into East London, having started life in the bedraggled penthouse of an industrial tower block overlooking Canary Wharf many moons (and spangled dawns) ago.

Thursday 9th July ELECTRIC IDJUT Unabombers, Idjut Boys 9pm – 3am

Photobucket

Over the past few years, The Unabombers have spread the Electriks vibe across the globe, DJing everywhere from New York to Bangkok to Australia. They also have residencies in Barcelona and Paris. Back home, they've played at clubs including Plastic People, Back To Basics, Fabric, Faith, Bugged Out, The Bomb and festivals such as Homelands, T-In-The-Park and Creamfields.

The Unabombers also brought us the legendary Electric Souls, which started as infamous illegal parties in brothels and lofts, but has now mutated into a large annual event that brings together the cream of the world’s underground dance talent, from Amp Fiddler to Gilles Peterson to Theo Parrish to Joey Negro.

They have also encapsulated their mystic brew on four compilation albums – Basement Soul, Saturday Night Sunday Morning, Electric Soul and Electric Soul 2 - as well as completing remixes for Truby Trio, New Sector Movements, Jersey Street, Calvin Harris and Shur-I-Kan. They are currently in the studio working on their own productions, with an EP due in the summer, and are set to bring a storm to T BAR'S tea cup on Thursday night.

Tuesday 7th July 2009
9pm - 2am
Free Entry
T Bar, 32 - 38 Duke’s Place, Aldgate, London EC3A 7LP

On the 7th July, T Bar will be introducing us to its new bar industry, monthly club night inhouse, which sets to shake things up mid week. Offering a forward thinking club night on a Tuesday, inhouse has a party arsenal of dancing, discounted drinks and a rare chance for you all to take charge of the decks.

In an era where purse strings are so tight they might snap, inhouse have teamed up with distinguished drinks companies, and are offering free membership cards giving discounts on rotating drinks sponsors on the night. Register your details at www.tbarlondon.com to gain membership.

inhouse will be guided by the talents of Gower Ramsey, its resident DJ who is throwing up the opportunity to any budding DJs to drop off their own demos. The entries that tempt his taste buds will secure a slot and play alongside him at the infamous T BAR and soak up some of the DJ glory.

Gower Ramsey is an old and treasured resident of T BAR, who previously fronted the Ditched Disco nights on Fridays in its former location. Playing alongside some of London’s most revered guests over the past few years, Gower is a true tastemaker, playing a spectrum of refined house and techno.

As always T BAR remains free of charge and keeps the action happening until 2am. The next on is due on the 11th August - Tuesdays will never be the same again….
